It's very nice to be here - Ms. Iwona Marciniak
12 July 2008

This beautiful firl wearing glasses is a student from Poland who is now intensively learning about the knowledge of arts in Bali. Iwona is deeply involved in the field of Balinese gamelan music. "I became interested in Balinese musix when I heard it first in my home country. When I got the opportunity to learn it in Bali I felt really happy," she told Bali Travel News.

Other than Balinese music, this fair-skinned girl admitted to have learned Javanese music. Though it's different from Balinese music, she confessed to most enjoy learning about traditional music from several regions across Indonesia. " Javanese music is really different from that of Balinese. Balinese music is faster and more exclusive, while Javanese gamelan is slower and gentle."

"I am very glad to study and stay here. The people are amicable and so helpful to us so there is no meaningful obstacle we encounter here to study," she said.

While at the Cultural Congress in relation to Bali Arts Festival XXX of this year she added that she is immensely interested in this activity. But due to restrictedness in the mastery of the Indonesian language, she could not understand thoroughly all subject matter. "Though I could not understand in the whole," she commented at the end of interview.
